Village Parks

The Village of Grafton values its parks and greenspace areas and encourages the community to spend time visiting each one of them. Please see below to learn about some of the requirements that the Village issues for our parks.

All domestic animals brought into the public parks by their owners shall be kept on a leash at all times and under the control of their owners. The owner shall remove all feces left by the animal anywhere in the public parks.

Bicentennial Park

Memorial Day weekend 2021:

Dedicated on July 1st, 2017, to commentate Grafton’s 200-years of progress.  Bicentennial Park is a town favorite gathering place for downtown walkers rest or meet others.  Nestled next to the intersection of Main and Mechanic Streets, Bicentennial Park has become Grafton’s go-to spot for wedding day and family snapshots… day or night!

Bicentennial Park, often referred to Gazebo Park, is open from Dawn to Dusk.  A favorite place by many for hometown photos or simply a place to sit and relax, Bicentennial Park is open to all.  Bicentennial Park is also a popular venue for small intimate wedding ceremonies.  Private use 4-hour rental of Bicentennial Park is available on weekends for $50.00.  Planning ahead helps parks personnel plan to have the lawn area mowed and…. The sprinkler system turned off during your special occasion.

North Park Community Center

On the north side of the village, off of Novak Road is North Park.  Park Main ENTRANCE is 1230 ELM ST, GRAFTON, OH 44044

This park offers a picnic shelter, which can be rented (see below), restrooms, playground equipment, and a basketball court. The community room, which is available for rental, is located in North Park, as well as Fire Station #2. The park entrance is lined with trees honoring loved ones and is known as “Memory Lane”.

There is no guarantee grass and lawn areas will be cut as lawn maintenance is subject to weather and available personnel.

Resident
$150.00 – 4 hours  (plus refundable deposit of $50.00 ($200.00 total) if all rules are followed per rule sheet given)

$225.00 – Entire Day (plus refundable deposit of $50.00 ($275.00 TOTAL) provided all rules are followed per rule sheet given)

Non-Resident
$200.00 – 4 hours (plus refundable deposit of $50.00 ($250.00 total) provided all rules are followed per rule sheet given)

$300.00 – Entire Day (plus refundable deposit of $50.00 ($350.00 total) if all rules are followed per rule sheet given)

Effective 1/27/16- The deposit and rent are due in full to secure/rent a date for the the Community Room -Cash or Checks only- Hours to complete rental documents are 8am. to 4:00pm. Mon-Fri at Town Hall 960 Main Street. Rentals cannot be made over the phone. To check available dates call 440-926-2401 opt. 2

COMMUNITY ROOM RULES

The security deposit of $50.00 must be made to reserve the Community Room.  The security deposit will be refunded after an inspection of the Community Room is made and any damage is assessed.  Once found no damage and all clean up rules were followed, the refund check will be issued and mailed to you after the following Council meeting.

The Community Room must be cleaned up immediately following your event, within your scheduled time slot.  All trash must be bagged and removed from the premises.

 ENTRANCE DOORS must remain closed unless entering or exiting the building.  Propping the door(s) open is NOT allowed.  

All tables and chairs must be returned to the racks at the end of your event.

 Lights and equipment must be turned off before vacating the premises.

 READ THIS: Decorations are limited to table decorations only. Decorations are not permitted to be taped, thumb-tacked, or hung from walls or ceiling.

NO exterior decorations attached to the building or sign poles allowed.   No decorations or signage attached to the Community Room sign at the park entrance or any Village roadway signage is allowed.  Temporary stand alone signage provided by the facility renter is allow at the park entrance(s) and must be removed at the end of the rental.  This includes any tape, thumbtacks, string, etc. used to secure the decorations.

You must supply all dishes, utensils, trash bags and floor cleaning solution.

Kitchen equipment may be used.

FLOORS MUST BE SWEPT AND MOPPED BEFORE LEAVING

DO NOT PLUG IN MORE THAN 2 ITEMS PER ELECTRIC OUTLET

 REGULATIONS

You must vacate the premises by 12:00 am. – Midnight.

Maximum occupancy is 120 persons.

You must be 21 years of age to rent the Community Room.

Deposits will be refunded only if cancelled at least 6 weeks prior to event.

Parking is restricted to designated areas only. 

 NO PARKING IN FRONT OF THE FIRE STATION DOORS!!!!!!!!!!!!

 NOTE: In the event that these premises are in any way damaged, trash not removed or left unclean, the deposit will not be refunded and you will be assessed for these damages.

DISCLAIMER:  Your rental is non-refundable.  This includes conditions due to Weather and/or facility conditions, including trash left by others prior do not warrant a refund of rental, NO EXCEPTIONS.  You are renting a publicly owned and funded facility, this rental assures your permitted use, please exhibit a common courtesy to others.  Problems with facility conditions should be reported to Village Administration in a timely manner.

A Grafton Police Officer will unlock the Community Room for the hours you have it rented on your contract.  The Police Dept. Cell phone# is  440-926-2261 if needed.  If you find any preexisting conditions or concern regarding the facility including trash left behind by others, notify the police officer on duty PRIOR to your event.

 $100.00 rent per day

RULES

The rental must be paid in full to reserve a pavilion. An inspection of the pavilion will be made the following day of your rental.  Any damage is may be assessed by Village Council upon review.  All preexisting damage or concern must be reported to the Grafton Police on duty officer PRIOR to your rental, not after! 

The pavilion must be cleaned up immediately following your event, within your scheduled time slot.  All trash must be bagged and removed from the premises. 

All decorations must be removed.  This includes any tape and string or anything use with decorations an event signage.

 You must supply all food, beverage, dishes, utensils and grills needed for your event.

 There will be no electricity supplied.

Willow Park is located on Main Street at the southeast corner of the village.

Park Rental Rules

The Willow Park Pavilions are available to rent, for a fee of $100.00 per-pavilion per day.

Rental per-pavilion and reservation(s) must be made in person.

Cash or Checks only – ALL RENTALS are to reserve and secure your private use of otherwise public facilities on your desired planned date of use.  

To check available dates, call 440-926-2401 opt. 2. Hours to complete rental documents are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rental reserves pavilion facility and reservation must be made in person. The amount of $100.00 per pavilion must be paid in full to secure the date.

Village Parks employees will provide a best effort to provide a clean facility with all lawn areas mowed.  When weather, staffing or in the event the Parks personnel were unable to provide the level of service usually provided, there is no guarantee grass will be cut as lawn maintenance is subject to weather and available personnel.

Reservoir Park

Home to Grafton’s state recognized HOT STOVE league, Reservoir Park is a center for baseball activity April through August.  NEW in 2022 is Reservoir Trails (07/02/2022)  Located North of Main St and next to the Grafton Reservoir you will find a piece of Grafton serenity  where those young and old who love to cast a line can fish to there hearts content in a easy to access scenic park setting. No swimming is permitted.

Reservoir Park is located across the street from Willow Park on South Main Street.  Reservoir Park includes  four baseball diamonds, restrooms and concession stand facility.

Reservoir Park is not available for rental.

Restrooms are available from Memorial Day through Labor Day ONLY!

Lorain County Metro Parks Trail

The village along with the Lorain County Metro Parks has developed a trail from behind Grafton Lanes on Main Street, to a trail owned and maintained by the Metro Park System. This trail leads to Indian Hollow Metro Park on Parsons Road.
